Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to determine high school student?s views about the Corrosion and to test this views with literature.Corrosion, as a topic, is one of the most important topics in chemistry, physics and biology. Corrosion may be defined as the transforming of metals into their natural state through the reaction with environment. Along with the innovations in industry its importance has raised and it leads to the fact that teaching it to the students is of great importance. In the science programs at secondary education, there is no topic related to corrosion.A 14 item survey questionnaire was developed to measure the knowledge of high school students regarding the reasons of corrosion and their views on the topic. Questionnaire was administrated to 194 students. The findings obtained indicated that the students know the reasons of daily events but that they were not aware of the relationship between these daily events and corrosion. As a result a framework that is necessary to cover corrosion and related suggestions are developed.
