Examination of the relationship between high school students' subjective well-being and levels of spirituality

Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted to examine the relationship between high school students' subjective well-being and their levels of spirituality. Additionally, the research aimed to find out if subjective well- being and spirituality varied based on gender , type of high school and age work or not. A relational screening model was employed to identify whether a significant relationship exists between the subjective well-being and spirituality levels of high school students. The study group consisted of 1,226 high school students from various types of high schools (Anatolian high school,Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, Social Sciences high School, Anatolian Religious vocational high school. Girls Vocational Anatolian High School, and Science High School) located in the central district of Eskişehir during the first semester of the 2021-2022 academic year. The research utilized the Adolescent Subjective Well-Being Scale, Spirituality Scale, and a Personal Information Form prepared by the researcher to obtain demographic information from the participants. The data collected from the stüdyo was analyzed using SPSS 22. In the study, subjective well-being and spirituality scores were determined according to gender, high school type and age. Accordingly, subjective well-being levels; It was found that it was higher in boys than girls, the difference was significant according to high school type, and the difference was not significant at age level. Spirituality levels; It was concluded that the difference was not significant according to gender, the difference was significant according to high school type, and the difference was not significant at age level. According to the research findings, there is a positive significant relationship between subjective well-being and spirituality, and it has been concluded that spiritual coping, spiritual experience, search for meaning, spiritual satisfaction, connection and harmony with nature explain 29 percent of subjective well-being. In addition to these results, the findings were discussed within the framework of relevant literature and suggestions were presented.
