Abstract (EN)

In this research, the effect of peer counseling on examination anxiety has been observed. Research has been performed on 12 peer counselor students (6male and 6 female) and 120-trained group with 120 control group (total student No: 240) in Kırşehir province high school III (grade 1 1). Student examination anxiety has been evaluated by Examination Anxiety Behavior Inventory (EAI), which is adapted by Öner (1990) for Turkish Culture. Overcoming, examination anxiety teaching, applied for 7 weeks. On peer counselors and examination anxiety degrees has been evaluated by EAI within pre and post teaching process. Pre and posttest data from evaluations has been analyzed by Wilcoxson Test. Peer counselors have applied help on sample group about overcoming examination anxiety. Examination behavior level has been evaluated by EAI before and after the counseling process. Data which is collected from pre and post test have been analyzed by 't Test' and such results has been observed; 1. Peer counseling on high school students has been successful in decreasing examination anxiety in suspicious dimension. 2. Peer counseling on high school students has been successful in decreasing examination anxiety in affective dimension. 3. Peer counseling on high school students has been successful in decreasing examination anxiety in total test dimension. ui
