Abstract (EN)

In this study, 11th and 12th grade advanced mathematics textbooks and 2017 Undergraduate Placement Exam (LYS) mathematics questions were examined in terms of language, content and word frequency. In the study, a mixed method with the use of qualitative and quantitative methods was preferred. For the purpose of the study, mathematics books and LYS math questions were examined in terms of language and content by using descriptive analysis. When the textbooks were analyzed in terms of language and content, it was observed that the 11th grade mathematics textbook was prepared quite well, while the 12th grade mathematics textbook had some shortcomings. The most frequently used words in the 11th and 12th grade advanced mathematics textbooks were analyzed with the AntConc indexer. The texts in the textbooks and the LYS mathematical questions were preserved in plain text and the words used frequently with the AntConc indexer were determined. The words obtained here were evaluated according to percentage and frequency distribution. In both books, it was concluded that the basic concepts of the units are the most frequently used words on the basis of the unit. In addition, the daily life words in the units were also investigated. In this direction, the daily life words in the books have been observed to be used in the stories and exercises that may be of interest to the students.
