Abstract (EN)

Engineering is one of the indispensable professions in today's world. Mining is one of the most important branches of engineering in terms of production need and occupational safety. Mining engineering has recently begun to decline as a preference in many universities and the quotas of many faculties for the department have been reduced. In this study, the adequacy of the undergraduate education of mining engineers was examined from the eyes of employers and managers in the mining sector. The survey conducted with a sample group of 40 people from the public and private sector employees in Kütahya, Afyonkarahisar, Eskişehir, Ankara and Burdur provinces showed that mining education programmes seemed to be sufficient in general, however, there werecritical issues to be considered for better curriculum development.
