Abstract (EN)

Shielding is one of the main way of protecting the electronic devices and systems against the destructive effects of electromagnetic interference. This thesis is a study on the shieding of electromagnetic fields which is one of the subjects of electromagnetic compatibility. The study elaborates on the main sources of electromegnetic field,sources of electromagnetic interference, influences of electromagnetic fields and shielding of the fields. It further dwells on the solution techniques for electromagnetic shielding, and on related discussions.Magnetic field measurements were made with various configurations in a high current laboratory on materials with different electrical conductivity and magnetic permabilty. Figures and tables were formed as a result of these measurements and the effects of different materials on the shielding of electromagnetic fields were evaluated. As a result of the work, shielding efficiency of different materials were determined with measurements.Further studies in this subject could compare these measurement results with the results of calculations to be made with the methods shown in this study.Programs could be developed which could determine,according to the magnitute of the magnetic field,the type and amount of the material to be used.
