Abstract (EN)
This study was to determine and evaluation intraocular pressure (IOP) in Anatolian Buffola calf by means of applanation tonometry using Tono-Pen XL for the investigation of a stress factor in welfare of the anatolian Buffola calf. A total of 78 eyes were examined from 39 apparently healthy Anatolian Buffola calf aged between 1 and 11 month old from both sexes. IOP of Anatolian Buffola calf were measured with Tono-Pen XL one times for each eyes in the morning during the six mounth. IOPs of the left eyes were found to be 23,58 ± 2,8 mmHg (range 17,30-29,60 mmHg) whereas the right eyes were 23,28 ± 3,28 mmHg (range 17,30-30,60 mmHg). Comparison of the tonometry between the right and left eyes of Anatolian Buffola calf showed no significant difference. IOP was not decreased in accordance with the age of the animal. To our knowledge, this is the first report of tonometrical investigation performed in Anatolian Buffola calf . It was determined that IOP for Anatolian Buffola calf could be 23.43 ± 2.8 mmHg.
