Abstract (EN)
In this study, engine mounts which contain magnetorheological (MR) fluid are designed and characteristics are experimentally investigated. In the beginning, MR mounts are designed using a CAD software and three different types of MR mount prototypes are build. Next, magnetostatic analysis is performed for the designed electromagnetic coil which controls the MR fluid flow. Designed MR mounts are manufactured and then tested statically and dynamically using a servo-hydraulic rate machine. Static tests are performed between 0-10 mm displacements. Dynamic tests are performed for 0-100 Hz with ±0,1 mm, ±0,5 mm, ±1,0 mm, ±2,0 mm displacements and between 0-20 Hz frequency with ±3,0 mm, ±4,0 mm displacements. Besides MR mounts, hydromount and top elastomeric mount are tested with the same test procedure. Test results are analyzed, different mount properties are explained and MR mounts characteristics in frequency domain are shown.
