Abstract (EN)
70% of the drinking and utility water needs of Mardin province are met from natural spring waters. For this reason, it is aimed to evaluate the physical, chemical and microbiological properties of the natural spring waters of Nusaybin Beyazsu, Dargeçit Akbelen, Kızıltepe Beşdeğirmen, Kızıltepe Yedikardeş and Artuklu Kayacan, which meet the drinking water needs of Mardin province, depending on the season, in order to investigate the compliance with the regulation on waters intended for human consumption. In our study, a total of 180 water samples, 36 from each source, were taken and physical, chemical and microbiological analyzes of the water were made. Physical analyzes of water were studied by Hach Lange Hach HQ440d with digital meter probe, turbidity parameter was Hach Lange TU 5200, chemical analyzes were performed by Lange Dr 3900 spectrophotometry device, e.coli and coliform bacteria analyzes were performed by membrane filtration method. In statistical analyzes, it is seen that there is a statistically significant difference between the measurements of aluminum, copper, zinc, iron, fluoride, calcium, lead, chromium, magnesium, nitrite, nitrate, hardness, sulfate, sulfite and cyanide of natural resources (p<0.05). In the statistical analyzes made according to the seasons, it was found that there was a statistically significant difference between the color, temperature, aluminum, nickel, nitrite, nitrate, hardness, sulphite measurements of natural resources (p<0.05). In the evaluation made in terms of microbiology, it was determined that Artuklu Kayacan was not suitable for E.coli and coliform bacteria taken throughout the year in natural sources. As a result, it has been determined that the chemical parameters of the analyzed natural spring waters are suitable according to the Ministry of Health's regulation on Water Intended for Human Consumption, and some spring waters show significant physical, chemical and microbiological differences depending on the season. For this reason, our study has made our study valuable because the natural spring waters have been analyzed seasonally and there has been no such study before in Mardin and its region. For this reason, there is a need for large-scale studies to evaluate the physical, chemical and microbiological aspects of water, which is of vital importance for human metabolism, and to support our study.
