Abstract (EN)
Jewelry has been a part of human life from the beginning of history. It is seen as an economic and social sign as well as an artistic object, it is also regarded as a luxury product. Jewelry artists have created their jewelery designs according to these social and artistic dimensions. It is symbolic consumption and the democratization of luxury that have left its mark on the period we live in. In this period, brands have become the main actors of consumption and brand identity is considered to be the carrier of the symbols that sell the product. The creation of this identity has been evaluated as a multi-dimensional effort from graphical elements to social responsibility projects. When it comes to luxury jewelery brands, while these dimensions of the brand remain important, the most important dimension is the artistic value of jewelery designs. Accordingly, the contribution of the jewelery designer to the brand as an artist was found to be essential. These findings are detailed and concretized with Tiffany & Co example in the last part of the study. The thesis thus sought to offer a general framework on how to create a luxury jewelry brand in Turkey. In addition, it is aimed to show how the art of jewelery flows in other channels by including world-renowned designers who work independently from brands.
