Empididae (Diptera) of Marmara region

In this study, 1207 specimens which were collected from Marmara Region between April?August in 2008?2010 were evaluated and 49 species from 7 genera were determined. Empis (Euempis) kerteszi Bezzi, 1900, Empis (Leptempis) cognata Egger, 1860, Empis (Leptempis) maculata Fabricius, 1781, Empis (Empis) genualis Strobl, 1893, Empis (Empis) setosa Loew, 1867, Empis (Empis) tanysphyra Loew, 1873, Empis (Empis) woodi Collin, 1927, Empis (Coptoplebia) corcyrica Bezzi, 1909, Empis (Argyrandrus) dispar Scholz, 1851, Empis (Xanthempis) digramma Meigen in Gistle, 1835, Empis (Xanthempis) lutea Meigen, 1804, Empis (Xanthempis) stercorea Linné, 1761, Hilara aeronetha Mik, 1892, Hilara anglodanica Lundbeck, 1913, Hilara cilipes Meigen, 1822, Hilara clavipes (Harris, 1776), Hilara curtisi Collin, 1927, Hilara discalis Chvála, 1997, Hilara discolor Strobl, 1892, Hilara flavidipes Chvála, 1997, Hilara freidbergi Chvála, 2008, Hilara fusitibia Strobl, 1899, Hilara lurida (Fallen, 1816), Hilara merula Collin, 1927, Hilara thoracica Macquart, 1827, Rhamphomyia (Megacyttarus) crassirostris (Fallen, 1816), Rhamphomyia (Megacyttarus) maculipennis Zetterstedt, 1842, Clinocerella oldenbergi (Engel, 1918), Dolichocephala guttata (Haliday, 1833), Heleodromia immaculata Haliday, 1833, Chelifera precatoria (Fallen, 1816), genera Clinocerella, Dolichocephala ve Heleodromia are new records for Turkish fauna. Also, 3 species from Hilara are considered to be new for science. As a result of this study, descriptions of species, information about localities, distribution in World and Turkey with identification keys of species, distribution maps for the research area and photo of all species are given and male genitalia of each species are illustrated.
