Abstract (EN)

Parables constitute an important part of the Qur'an. For this reason, its position in tafsir activities is also important to this extent. Throughout the history of tafsir, commentators have made great efforts to understand the parables and have dealt with the parables from different aspects. In our study, the relationship between parables and ahkam has been the subject of research. The commentators of the sects that argue that ahkam can be deduced from the parables have been preferred. The reason for dealing with this issue is to show how the ideas about ahkam are given from the parables. Based on the parables, the commentators sometimes put forward a new ruling. However, they mostly used the parables to support their jurisprudence or the views of the sect they defended. Rather than new jurisprudential ideas, jurisprudential issues were brought up within the framework of the relationship established with the parable. In each of the four parables we have analyzed, the commentators included the events of their time and the sects they were influenced by. Our study includes four parables and three commentators. The verses in which al-Māturīdī expressed his opinion were the subject of our analysis. Where he did not express an opinion, al-Rāzī and al-Qurtubī were not included.
