The mediating role of corporate social responsibility in the impact of organizational culture on individual creativity

Abstract (EN)

Organizational culture has been felt at almost whole processes of organizations in terms of both external stakeholders and employees, in addition to their relations with each other. In the last decades, organizational culture has been accepted as a factor that has effect on sustainability and competitiveness of institutions. However, it is not sole factor for competitiveness and sustainability. There are many other elements playing role such as employee's individual creativity and corporate social responsibility. Presence of innovative employees with necessary organizational circumstances and corporate social responsibility are important for organizations to have competitive advantage and to increase effectiveness in organizations. Literature releases that in terms of competitiveness and sustainability, organizations with strong culture in addition to corporate social responsibility activities and employees with individual creativity, have more capability for compliance to and pursuit of external changes. The aim of this study was to investigate and provide empirical evidence about the impact of organizational culture on employee's individual creativity with the mediating role of corporate social responsibility. The research was realized in the mining industry of Adana province's the last three least developed districts which are Aladağ, Saimbeyli and Feke. According to the analyzes, organizational culture has statistically significant effect on both individual creativity and corporate social responsibility. Furthermore, corporate social responsibility has statistically significant effect on individual creativity and has mediating role in the impact of organizational culture on individual creativity. Lastly, gender-neutral expressions were chosen within the scope of this study in favor of gender equality. For example, the term "businessperson" was preferred instead of the term "businessman" or the expression "she/he" was preferred instead of the expression "he.".
