Abstract (EN)
Electromagnetic (EM) propagation is affected by constantly changing atmospheric conditions in marine environments. RADAR performance prediction, wireless communication, GPS etc. Modeling the propagation of EM waves in marine environment for areas is of great importance, but modeling these effects is quite difficult and complex due to the fact that atmospheric conditions are not homogeneous. In this context, GIS based spatial statistical methods were applied to electromagnetic and atmospheric data collected temporally and spatially in the study conducted to model the propagation loss. With the exploratory regression analysis, the best model for all frequencies (2.69 GHz, 4.5 GHz, 8.45 GHz, 12.21 GHz, 18.10 GHz) was predicted to have parameters of wind speed, sea surface temperature, pressure, relative humidity and loss of free space. As a result, models that predict EM propagation for five different frequencies were created by spatial regression analysis and coefficients of parameters affecting EM propagation under varying atmospheric conditions were determined. It is anticipated that the study may be a solution for EM propagation characteristics and similar problems by providing a new horizon for EM propagation applications in the regions.
