Abstract (EN)
This study titled "Factors in the Formation of Hybrid Art and Its Emergence in the Context of 20th Century Art Trends" examines the cultural, scientific, technological and social processes that have been effective in the formation of hybrid art in the context of 20th century art movements and contemporary art practices. The concept of hybrid and the impact of hybrid culture on art are evaluated together with the interaction of art with science and technology, and how the tension between globalization and locality is reflected in artistic forms of expression is discussed. Many movements, from pioneering art movements such as Cubism, Futurism, Dada and Expressionism that emerged in the 20th century to approaches such as performance art, fluxus, conceptual art and feminist art that developed after 1960, have been associated with hybrid art trends. The pluralization of hybrid structures where boundaries disappear in contemporary art is exemplified by the hybrid approaches developed by contemporary artists in areas such as identity, body, nature and technology. In the last section, concrete examples of these hybrid approaches are analyzed through the artistic practice of artist Merve Kıyak. The study aims to show how hybridity has become central in contemporary art, not only as a technical or formal but also as a conceptual and cultural strategy.
