Determination of anxiety levels and sexual satisfaction in menopausal women

Abstract (EN)

295 sexually active menopausal women who applied to Etlik Zübeyde Hanım Women?s Diseases Education and Research Hospital were the sample of this research. Questionnaire form, Golombok Rust Inventory of Sexual Satisfaction (GRISS) and State Trait Anxiety Inventory were used for data collection.In our research it was determined that 41% of women is age between 46-50, 67,8% were primary school graduates, 85,1% of housewife, 78,3% of non-smokers and 89,8% had nuclear family.. In addition, ıt was determined that 87,3% of the women complaints of hot flushes and cold sweats after the feeling of aggression, 69,8% of women having the feeling of irritability and anger and 68,8% of having the feeling of restlessness and boredom. In our research ıt was found that women?s sexually satisfactions were low, their trait anxiety levels were middle and their state anxiety levels were low. In this study, ıt was shown that women?s anxiety levels were high and their sexual satisfactions were decreased during menopause.
