Abstract (EN)
This study aimed to determine chemical composition of hydrodistilled essential oil from Mentha piperita plant and in vitro antioxidant aktivities of the essential oil and different solvent. By using four different solvents: hexan, ethyl acetate, methanol and water, soluble compounds has been extracted the from the plant. Essential oil composition of the Mentha piperita was analyzed by GC/MS. Basic components in the oil were found to be (%74,54) menthol, (%6,63) isomenthol, (%6,47) menton.Antioxidant activities of the samples were determined by three the different test systems:ß-carotene/linoleic acid, DPPH, reduction power KEY WORDS: Lamiatae, Mentha piperita, menthol, essential oil
