Modular instruction regulation at the vocational secondary school: Program development for the machining

ABSTRACTMODULAR INSTRUCTION REGULATION AT THE VOCATIONALSECONDARY SCHOOL: PROGRAM DEVEOPMENT FOR THEMACHININGIn this work, different modular approaches are represented giving theinformation about ?Modular Education System? and ?Modular Instruction?at the vocational secondary school. Some applications are explained fromour country and the world.Modular instruction system, which is addressing a large sector ofgraduated people from the primary School to university from the differentparts of society, provides people to have a job on a short way completingthe job module nearly for a six-month period on whatever the individualschose. People can complete more than one module. There is a six-monthperiod of education for each module. These are educational places,vocational schools and the universities. It is also possible that some onecan utilize the opportunities of production departments according to thefeatures of vocation.Technological developments make new vocational areas and however,some vocational branches lose its validity. Modular instruction systemaims to teach new generation the new technology focusing on the currentjobs.Six sub-occupation branches for machining and the basic lessonsteaching these occupations are determined in this work. However, there isa basic module, which is needed to have only for once without havingeach occupation modules. The important basic lessons for all modules arecollected under this module. High school and / or university graduates,viwho have completed successfully all these sub-occupation branchesunder the machining, can be called ?graduated from the machining of thevocational high school ? and have a certificate.Sub-occupation branches for the machining (Leveling Basic ProfessionBranch) and their modular instruction programs are prepared in this work.Some data about the application, essentials and criterions of modularprograms are prepared in this thesis.Key words: Modular Instruction, Vocational and Technical Education, TheMachining, The Approaches of Modular Program, The Structure ofModular Program, The Applications of Modular Education.vii
