Abstract (EN)

Ill SUMMARY In the research, the level of meeting the necessities of the sector for the teaching programme of "hairdressing" in vocatinal and technical education institutes has been evaluated. The surroundings of the research consist of the hairdressers working in total 1469 coiffeur saloons in central districts of Ankara. The examples of the research are 150 masters and master instructors chosen by randomly. Two surveys have been applied in this research. The first survey was prepared for the treatments applied in the sector and the application frequency of these treatments. And the second survey was prepared to evaluate the competence of the students taking hair care and design training programme. The data has been analyzed by SPSS package programme. As a result of the research, it is understood that some applications applied in the sector were not present in hair care and design training programme. Through the findings obtained, it is observed that the applications present in the aforesaid programme are in parallel with the applications done in the sector. Besides, it is understood that the students show notable incompetence in the treatment present in the programme. In this case, it is seen that the programme is very far from satisfying the necessities of the sector.
