Abstract (EN)

In this study, aluminum based metal matrix composite materials containing silicon carbide reinforcement at different mass ratios were produced by the stir casting method and the produced specimens were deformed by using the shot peening method and the ultrasonic impact treatment. The surface properties of the specimens before and after the deformation processes were investigated by experimental studies. As a result of the experimental studies carried out, it was observed that the increase of the ratio of the reinforcement phase in the structure caused the increase of the porosity formation, and therefore the tensile strength and hardness values of the samples decreased. As a result of the deformation hardening on the surface of the samples with the applied impact methods, it is observed that decreasing in this effect which is caused by porosity and a significant improvement in these properties of the samples. In addition, with the increase of the reinforcement ratio, the wear resistance of the samples increased and with the applied impact methods, this strength was slightly improved.
