Abstract (EN)

In this master thesis, it was investigated the usability of MAG welding method for producing hardfacing with the addition of metal powder. In the study SAE 1020 steel plate has been used as a parent metal and four different amount of FeCrC powder have been fed into arc region with a special aparatus. Four different amperage have been used in the coating operation. In some trials after the FeCrC powder has been heated heated to 400 ᵒC and 600 ᵒC, the coatings have been done. In addition for one specimen a mixture of 4wt% graphite whit FeCrC powder, has been used for coating, and the changes in the coating has been investigated. After coating studies, microstructural examination, elemental and X-Ray analysis, hardness measurament and abrasive wear tests have been performed. As a result, it was seen that the amount of cromium and carbon increased in the coating with the increase of FeCrC. Also, preheating of powder had a possitive effect on the dilution of cromium and carbon in the coating. In addition graphite addition to FeCrC powder have increased the carbon content of the coating. The microstructures of coating have changed from martensite to austenite+matrensite+cromium carbides with the increase of cromium and carbon contents. Similarly hardness values and wear resistance of coatings have increased with the increase of cromium and carbon content.
