Abstract (EN)
Introduction and Aim: Information on the relationship between systemic inflammatory indices and cancer prognosis is increasing day by day. In this study, we aimed to examine the prognostic relationship between metastatic colorectal cancer (CRC) and advanced lung cancer inflammation index (ALI). Materials and Methods: Sixty metastatic CRC patients admitted to Samsun Training and Research Hospital were included in the study. Demographic data, anthropometric measurements, complete blood count parameters, and serum albumin levels of the patients were recorded retrospectively. The neurotrophil / lymphocyte ratio and the ALI value [Body mass index x serum albumin / (neutrophil / lymphocyte)] were calculated. As a result of the highest specificity and sensitivity obtained from the ROC analysis according to the median overall survival, 2 groups were formed according to the ALI cut-off value (low ALI and high ALI). These two groups were evaluated in terms of overall survival with Kaplan Meier analysis. Multivariate Cox regression analysis was used to examine the effect of ALI value on mortality. Results: As a result of the ROC analysis, the cut-off value for ALI was 39.99 with 73 % sensitivity and 70 % specificity. The median overall survival was significantly higher in the high ALI group (ALI > 39,99) [31 (4,9 - 69) months and 17,5 (4,8 - 69) months, respectively, p = 0.007]. In the multivariate Cox regression analysis, it was determined that the increase in the level of ALI caused a significant decrease in mortality (Hazard Ratio: 0.98, 95 % Confidence Interval: 0.97 - 0.99, p = 0.038). Conclusion: ALI is a significant index in determining overall survival and prognosis in metastatic CRC. Key Words: Inflammation, Colorectal cancers, Prognosis
