Abstract (EN)

Factors such as developing technology, industry, and increasing population have increased the need for energy. Renewable energy sources have begun to replace fossil fuels such as oil, natural gas, and coal, which are about to run out, harm ecology, increase foreign dependency, and are uneconomical. These energy sources must be stored in order to be used in case of need. In this study, pumped storage hydropower plant system was selected for storage, and research was carried out on this subject. The upper reservoir volume of the power plant designed around Eğirdir Lake in Isparta province was calculated with 4 scenarios and the scenarios were compared according to these calculations. At 1.430 m elevation, 4 reservoir scenarios with a volume of 6.000.000 m3 , 4.000.000 m3 , 2.000.000 m3 , and 1.000.000 m3 were calculated. The total weir length is 1.150 m, the upper reservoir elevation is 1.430 m, the total tailwater tunnel length is 650 m, the powerhouse at 910 m elevation, a penstock with a diameter of 7 m and 4 turbines. As a result of the hydraulic and economic calculations of the PHS system, the annual net income for the 1st scenario is $ 132.623.513, the installed power of the plant is 1.327 MW; For scenario 2, annual net income is $89.631.741, with installed power of 897 MW; For scenario 3, annual net income is $45.180.783, with installed power of 452 MW; For the 4th scenario, the annual net income was $22.633.708 and the installed power of the plant was 226 MW.
