Abstract (EN)
VIII ABSTRACT The aim of the study is to bring the atrocities committed on people who liwed in Kilis, their fight for freedom, their opposition to the idea of handing out Kilis to Arabic countries, their commitment for their country and the generosity of those who lost their lives in the war of independence against the invasion of all parts of our country by the Allied forces following the Moundros Armistice, which the Ottoman Empire was unjustly made to sign at the end of World War I. No studies have been done about the events that took place in Kilis and its surrounding yet. Thinking that we can pay our debt of gratitude and present our sincere thanks to those who lost their lives during the war and the war veterans only by not forgetting them, and with the aim of providing relevant data about the issue, we put the topics that were taken as research problem in this study under scrutiny. The firt section of the present study comprizes geopraphical information about Kilis and its surrounding, history of Kilis and brief information about the general condition of the country after World I. The second section is about the invasion of Kilis by British troops. In the third section the period of French invasion, support of people who lived in Kilis to the independence war of Gaziantep were analyzed, and the freedom of Kilis after the Ankara Armistice and problems about border of Kilis after gaining the freedom were studied.
