Abstract (EN)
Wireless communication systems suffer from fading and these fading characteristics have a random nature. In this thesis, mobile fading channel characteristics are adressed, and frequency selective fading channels are concerned for mitigation. Space-time block codes are proposed for diversity, and to achieve reliable communication rates under slow and flat fading channels. Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is adopted to take the work one step further to achive reliable communication rates under both frequency flat, and frequency selective fading channels. Also the proposed systems are improved with convolutional outer codes to get better bit error rate performances. Several multiple input multiple output (MIMO) communication systems are examined, and for the proposed systems, simulations are presented and discussions are made.
