Abstract (EN)

In this study, optimum conditions have been determined for removal ofCu2+ and Cd2+ ions from industrial waste waters and from syntheticsamples by micellar enhanced ultrafiltration (MEUF) and by ligand-modified MEUF. In the first stage of the study, optimum conditions interms of the concentration of surface active agent (sodium dodecylsulfate (SDS); cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB); triton-X-100(TX100) ), filtering pressure, stirring rate and membrane porosity havebeen determined.Since selective separation of Cu2+ and Cd2+ ions has been aimed,effects of various ligands on MEUF efficiency have also beeninvestigated. For this purpose, complexation behaviors of 20 azocompounds with Cu2+ and Cd2+ have been investigated in the presenceof SDS, CTAB and TX100 at different pH?s; and the pH values at whichdifferences have been observed in their interactions with these ionshave been determined.In MEUF experiments, optimum conditions for the separation of Cu2+and Cd2+ ions in the presence and absence of ligands have beendetermined and, it has been shown that selective separation of Cu2+and Cd2+ ions can be realized utilizing from the complexation of theseions and from the medium and charge effects of surfactant micelles.
