Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out at the Akdeniz University School of Medicine Department of Radiation Oncology?s General Electric (GE) Light Speed RT model computed tomography (CT) unit. The organ doses were explored which measured by Thermoluminesance dosimeter (TLD) that calibrated by ion chambers, and calculated by Monte Carlo simulation technique based on ion chamber measurements data during CT examinations. For selected scan protocols the CTDIair and the measuring parameters for calculating CTDIw values were measured by ionization chamber. The calculated CTDIw values were used as input data for IMPACT software for calculating CTDIw, CTDIvol, DLP the dose report values of each scan. These values were calculated from ImPACT software data sets. In addition the CTDIvol, DLP dose report values which obtained from CT unit after ending each exam were compared with those from ImPACT software. The organ doses were measured by TLD using the RANDO phantom through helical and axial scan types for each protocol. The CTDIair which measured by ion chamber was entered as an input value to ImPACT software then the organ doses were calculated. The organ doses that obtained form software and those from TLD measurements were compared. The availability of this program for organ dose calculations by measuring the CTDIair value of the CT device may be possible.
