Literary content in the newspaper of Türk published in Egypt

In this thesis, the literary content of the newspaper Türk published in Egypt, where was one of the important centres of the Young Turks' press and broadcasting activities, is examined. The aim of the study is to identify the literary texts in the Turkish newspaper published between 1903-1907 and to classify them according to text types and to present the index of all issues of the newspaper for the benefit of the academic community. In this context, the index of the newspaper is given in chronological order. The newspaper Türk is a newspaper that contains articles and evaluations addressing various fields such as politics, science, history and literature. The weekly newspaper follows a nationalist editorial policy. Yusuf Akçura's article Üç Tarz-ı Siyaset was published unsigned in issues 24, 26 and 27 of the newspaper. In the 30th issue of Türk, Ali Kemal criticised the article with his unsigned article titled "Cevabımız". Hüseyinzâde Ali Bey, Şerafeddin Mağmûmî, Mehmed Suad, Celaleddin Arif, Necmeddin Arif, Manastırlı Bahaeddin and Esad Bey were among the writers of the newspaper. The newspaper, which attracted attention with its literary content, praised the important names of the Turkish literature of the Renovation Period such as Nâmık Kemâl, Abdülhâk Hamid and Şemsettin Sami, and included previously published poems of Edebîyat-ı Cedide poets such as Tevfik Fikret and Cenap Şehabettin. Our study consists of four parts. The first section analyses the publication process and form of the newspaper Türk . In the second part, information about the Young Turk newspapers in Egypt is given. In the third part of the study, the literary texts published in the Turkish newspaper in 1903-1907 are classified according to the name of the author, genres and subjects and given in tables. The last section contains the general index of the newspaper.
