Abstract (EN)

The work titled "Verdetü'l-melîḥ fî Şerḥi Bürdeti'l-medîḥ", which forms the core of this thesis, is a commentary written on Imam Būṣīrī's Qaṣīdat al-burda. The commentary was authored by Muḥammad b. Muṣṭafā al-Mudurnī, who was trained within the Ottoman educational system, during a period corresponding to the Tulip Era. Besides this work, Muḥammad b. Muṣṭafā al-Mudurnī also authored a treatise on the phrase of Tawhid (the Islamic declaration of faith), as well as several short exegeses of verses and other treatises dealing with various jurisprudential matters. In addition, the author wrote a sharh on Ibn Ḥajar's work "Nuzhat al-naẓar fī tawḍīḥ Nukhbat al-fikar," which deals with the principles of hadith methodology. The study consists of an introduction, three chapters and a conclusion. After the introduction, the first chapter discusses the conceptual framework. This chapter addresses the qaṣīda as a literary genre, Imam Būṣīrī and his Qaṣīdat al-Burda, as well as el-Madā'iḥ al-Nabawiyya which emerged as a subgenre of the qaṣīda, along with related literary genres. The second chapter presents the methodology of the study. In the third chapter, the findings, discussions, and interpretations are presented, including information about the life, works, teachers, students, and the historical context of the commentator Muḥammad b. Muṣṭafa al-Mudurnī. The edited-critical work is analyzed in terms of its language, style, content, and the methodology followed in the commentary. This chapter also includes the edition-critical analysis of Verdet al-Melīḥ fī Sharḥi Burdat al-Madīḥ. At the end of the chapter, Arabic indexes related to the critical edition are provided. In this context, the verses, hadiths, Arabic poems, proverbs, and the explained terms and concepts mentioned in the text are listed in the order in which they appear in the edited-critical work.
