Abstract (EN)

Accounting professionals face high levels of stress due to various factors such as intense work pace, frequent regulatory changes, and client relationships, which may increase the risk of occupational burnout. This study aims to examine the effects of these stress factors on burnout and evaluate the relationship between accounting professionals' psychological resilience levels and their occupational burnout. In this study, the relational survey model was employed, and the research was conducted using quantitative methods. The study population consists of 400 participants aged 25-65 living in the city center of İzmir. The entire population was included in the sample. However, due to the large sample size and time constraints, the survey was conducted online via Google Forms with 400 participants. For data collection, the Maslach Burnout Inventory, the Psychological Resilience Scale, and a personal information form developed by the researcher were used. To determine the relationship between the scales, Pearson Correlation Analysis was applied. Additionally, to examine differences in burnout and resilience levels based on demographic variables, Independent Samples t-test and ANOVA tests were conducted. Multiple Linear Regression Analysis was used to analyze the effects of predictor variables. All analyses were performed with a 95% confidence interval, and the significance level was set at p < 0.05. The findings of the study indicate a significant relationship between accounting professionals' psychological resilience levels and their occupational burnout levels. Moreover, psychological resilience was found to be a predictor of occupational burnout. Significant differences were also observed in burnout and resilience levels based on demographic variables such as gender, age, marital status, and years of experience.
