Abstract (EN)
In this study, Geant4 based GATE simulation program was used to determine the detector properties of NaI (Tl) detector. Simulations were carried out using isotropic point, disc, narrow beam and wide beam gamma ray sources, in the 50-3000 keV photon energy range, at various source-detector distances. The results of the simulations were compared with different analytical, experimental and Monte Carlo results, which are available in the literature since 1958, when scintillation detectors were first used. It was observed that the results of GATE simulation program are compatible with the values in the literature. The results showed that the GATE simulation program is a useful tool to determine the detector properties of new scintillator materials that can be used in radiation detectors.
