Abstract (EN)

In this study, the subject of family will be examined in five novels of Nazan Bekiroğlu -one of the contemporary Turkish novelists- that have been published up to this time. The purpose of the study is to enquiry how the family's views and the author's perspective on this issue are, and which family structures are used more. Nazan Bekiroğlu is an author who has written a total of sixteen works in the genre of novels, stories, essays and reviews. Among the studies on Nazan Bekiroğlu until this time, it was mostly focused on the structural sense or the sources in her works. More specifically, this study will try to bring a new perspective to Nazan Bekiroğlu's novels by enquiring the family, which is a subject that concerns the sociology of literature. In the first part, information about the concept of family is given, in the second part, the life and literary personality of the writer are mentioned, and in the last part, the subject of family in Nazan Bekiroğlu's novels is examined under the headings "Family Types, Family Members, Relationships Between Family Members". In the conclusion part of the study, it is stated what conclusions are reached after the determinations and interpretations on families in Nazan Bekiroğlu's novels.
