Abstract (EN)

This study was made in Nazilli,disrict of Aydın and this study has tried to determine Nazilli's folk beliefs from past to present. Nazilli, which is the cradle of ancient civilizations, is the one of the oldest settlements of Aydın's. Nazilli is the frequented place by many of the nation's from past to present and gives us a lot of knowledges about folk beliefs.This study consists of four parts; introduction, the first section, the second section and the third section. In the intoduction of this research has been provided research's aims, methods and informations related to the field of research.In the first section the study focused on ancient Turkish beliefs and how this beliefs scars on Nazilli district. Second section focuses on Nazilli's folk beliefs. Nazilli folk beliefs are examined under following headings: beliefs, regarding transition periods, calendar and time -bound beliefs, beliefs about animals and other beliefs. The transitions period has been divided into sub-headings. in this sub-headings has been given practices and beliefs about birth, marriage, circumcision.The third section focuses on beliefs about Nazilli folk medicine. The purpose of this section is to give the beliefs whitin the scope of folk medicine. So that this section is focused on only tomb ,a place where a saint burried, and folk medicine. Under tomb title has been given the informations about beliefs formed around tombs, tombs in Nazilli and the practices and applications around tombs. Under folk medicine title has been given the informations about appereance of folk medicine, folk medicine and it's systems,treatment methods of folk medicine, characteristic of folk medicine, folk medicine in Nazilli and its manner of operations and kinds of it in Nazilli.
