Abstract (EN)

Purpose: To investigate the effect of infertility support education on treatment results in infertile women with unexplained reasons. Method: This study, which was conducted as a quasi-experimental with a pre- test-post-test comparison group, was conducted in Eskişehir Osmangazi University Health, Practice and Research Hospital, Department of Reproductive Endocrinology and Private Denizli Health Hospital In Vitro Fertilization Clinic, between the ages of 19-45, with a diagnosis of unexplained infertility. It was performed with women who decided to undergo IVF/ICSI and were included in the treatment plan. A training group and a control group were created with the randomization method, with at least 25 infertile women in each group. Data were collected with the "Introductory Questionnaire", "Fertility Readiness Scale for Women Receiving Fertility Support", "Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors Scale II" and "Post IVF/ICSI Success Evaluation Form". Pre-test scales were applied in the first interview to the Training and Control group. . Infertility Support Training was given to the training group in 3 sessions at 15-day intervals. Post-test data were obtained in the interview held on the OPU day. Embryo transfer was applied to 25 infertile women in both groups and Human Chorionic Gonadotrophic hormone was evaluated on the 12th day. Approximately 4 weeks later, fetal Patient files were scanned for the presence of heartbeat and the Post-IVF/ICSI Success Evaluation Form was filled out. Results: A very high statistically significant positive relationship was obtained between the post-test total score of the Fertility Readiness Scale for Women Receiving Fertility Support and the Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors Scale II post-test total score of the training group. While fetal heartbeat was detected in 15 women (60%) in the training group, fetal heartbeat was detected in only 10 women (40%) in the control group, and this difference was found to be statistically significant. Conclusion: Infertility support education is thought to have potential effects on fertility as well as effects on general health. Infertility support training should be made a regular practice for women diagnosed with infertility.
