Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this project is to diagnose the malignant and the benign breast cancer cells using fuzzy logic classification method.In the research phase of this thesis, Wisconsin breast cancer database was analyzed in detailed in order to be able to create rules according to fuzzy systems used for classifying the cells into both benign and malignant. For this purpose fuzzy logic was inspected. In the diagnosing section fuzzy inference system which allowed creating membership functions and rules, also built in MATLAB was used. Fuzzy rules, membership functions, implication and defuzzification methods were created according to the Wisconsin breast cancer database.In the thesis, an adaptive neuro ? fuzzy inference system was also used. Without knowing the content of the data, it was possible to let the system create its own rules, membership functions, implication and defuzzification methods and its own model for the classification operation with this system.
