Abstract (EN)

A FLORISTIC STUDY IN THE REGION AROUND NIGDE AND ULUKIŞLA (M. Sc Thesis) Esra MARTIN GAZI UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY May 1997 ABSTRACT This study, this research covers the study relating to the vegetations between Niğde and Ulukışla. 60 families and 234 genera of 1075 sample plants which were collected from the study area have been described. Also, 430 species and subspecies taxa have been determined. It has been defined that the number of 66 species described are endemic for Turkey's flora. According to their phytogeogrophical regions the numbers and rates of the species can be stated as follows; Irano - Turanian 134 (31.2%) Mediterranean 21 (4.9%) Euro - Siberian 18 (4.2%) Unknown or Cosmopolitans 257 (59.8 %) On the other hand, 18 of the total 430 taxa are new for the Cs square.
