Abstract (EN)
Genus Alburnoides includes a small-sized cyprinid species which inhabits fast flowing and well-oxygenated clear waters. It is considered as biological indicator of environmental quality due to its low tolerance to water pollution. Since it has no commercial value, there is limited information about life-history traits about A. coskuncelebii. In the presented study, life-history traits of the endemic A. coskuncelebii population living in Asarsuyu Stream which is one of the tributaries of Büyük Melen River was analyzed. Totally 296 A.coskuncelebii specimens were caught monthly between July 2018 and June 2019 by electrofishing. It is determined that total lengths of the studied samples change between 28.24 and 117.51 mm,their weight changes between 0.201 and 19.314 g and on the other hand their ages change between 0-IV. The overall sex ratio (M:F) was calculated as 1:1.04. The sex ratio was not found significantly different than the ideal sex ratio of 1:1. The length-weight relationship of the specimens was found higher than 3. Therefore, positive allometric the growth model was determined for examined A. coskuncelebii population. According to the obtained data on GSI and egg diameter, it is concluded that spawning period of the population was between April and August.
