Abstract (EN)

Energy, with its different forms, can be the main source of existence and movement of living beings, and it can be both an output in the production and development of artificial non-living beings, their use and transformation into each other. Electric energy, one of the types of energy, is an important tool for the continuation of industry and life in a country. Energy supply security aims to keep the energy needed in this cycle of needs and commitments always ready for use. It is much more important to obtain energy from domestic and national resources and to ensure its continuity. Although nuclear energy is an indispensable resource in terms of energy supply security, some issues need to be carefully examined. Because radioactive materials, which are a source of nuclear energy, pose a natural threat to all living creatures. This issue also poses a risk for the security of the country. Turkey has started to take steps to generate electricity from nuclear power plants in order to ensure energy supply security. For this purpose, construction of Akkuyu and Sinop Nuclear Power Plants has started. This study also lists the recommendations of the institutions involved in ensuring public order and general security against the risks and threats posed by the nuclear power plants that have started to be established in Turkey, regarding the measures to be taken in this regard.
