Abstract (EN)

This thesis focuses on Prof. Dr. Nusrettin Bolelli's work titled Belagat, providing an academic introduction and evaluation of the book. Bolelli is a well-known academic in the field of Arabic language and literature, recognized for his contributions through both original works and translations, significantly enriching academic knowledge in Turkey in this field. Belagat is considered one of the fundamental sources for teaching rhetoric (balagha) in Turkey. The study begins with a brief introduction to the history and key concepts of rhetoric, offering readers a framework to understand the broad context of the subject that Bolelli addresses through this work. Following this, the thesis touches on Bolelli's academic career and his contributions to Arabic language and literature. In its main sections, the thesis thoroughly examines Belagat in terms of content, structure, target audience, and teaching methods. The book is highlighted as a reliable reference for students and academics interested in learning rhetoric. Bolelli's clear and straightforward style makes the work a comprehensible and effective resource for both academic circles and language learners. The book thoroughly explains rhetoric concepts and supports these explanations with examples to facilitate comprehension. This thesis aims to reveal the significance and position of Bolelli's Belagat within Turkish academia, intending for the work to contribute to rhetoric education and to future research in Arabic language studies. Thus, it is expected that this study will make an important contribution to the relevant literature and help address gaps in the field of rhetoric.
