Comparative analysis of health performance indicators of OECD countries using multi-criteria decision-making methods

Improving the health performance of institutions and organizations providing health services is both an indicator of strength and success for country managers, and it is very important for citizens to live healthy and increase their well-being levels. The aim of this study is to rank the health performance of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) member countries in terms of certain health indicators and to evaluate these rankings. CCKV Methods were used in the research. In this context, CRITIC and ENTROPY methods were used in the calculation of the criterion weights in the study, CoCoSo, PROMETHEE and COPRAS methods were used in determining the ranking of the countries. The data on the health indicators included in the study were obtained from the OECD and World Bank database for 2021. In the study, 36 OECD member countries; the expected life expectancy at birth, total health expenditures (USD/person), number of nurses working per 1000 population, number of doctors working per 1000 population, under-5 mortality rate (per 1000 live births), % share of total health expenditures in GDP, infant mortality rate (per 1000 live births) and total fertility rate were sorted by considering criteria such as. As a result of the study, Norway, Finland, Switzerland, Sweden, Japan and Iceland are among the Decently performing countries, while the Slovak Republic, Chile, Mexico, Turkey and Colombia are among the Decently performing countries.
