Student prokofiev's perception of the sonata-allegro form in the big scale piano works

The Sonata-Allegro form is one of the most complex and noteworthy of all music forms, and is in some ways a synthesis of other forms that preceded it. This form, which began to develop at the time of the Renaissance, has long occupied a position of importance and popularity, continuing from the time of its inception right down through the ages to modern times. One of the great 20th century composers, Sergei Sergeyevich Prokofiev, took his place in music history as a composer highly devoted to classicism. Prokofiev composed his first and second piano sonatas along with the first piano concerto when he was a conservatory student, and in these pieces he used the Sonata-Allegro form, but shaped it according to his own creativity. This thesis includes information and analyses of the big piano works composed during Prokofiev's conservatory years.
