Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the relationships between the current professional capital levels of faculty members working in higher education institutions in Turkey, which consist of human, social and decision capital dimensions, and their current motivation, satisfaction and expectation levels, which are necessary for the creation of a qualified academic life. In this correlational survey study, one of the quantitative research methods, data were collected with the help of two different scales. The population of the study consists of all faculty members working in Turkey and the sample consists of 782 faculty members working in 34 universities determined by stratified sampling. The research data were analyzed through descriptive analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis. EFA and CFA were utilized to determine the validity and reliability of the developed scales. In the light of the findings, the relationships between the current situation regarding the professional capital and academic life levels of faculty members working in higher education institutions in Turkey and 38 demographic variables were revealed, and on the basis of the results obtained, recommendations focused on change and transformation were presented for decision makers and higher education institution administrators.
