Problems in special education practice schools from teachers' persperctive

The aim of the research is to examine the problems experienced in special education practice schools from the perspective of teachers. For this purpose, the views of special education teachers on the parents, the administration, the physical structure of the school, the physical structure and equipment of the classes, the branch and partner teachers, the method-technique, material and textbook they use, and the IEP preparation and execution process were examined. The study group of the research consists of 13 special education teachers working in special education practice schools II. ve III. Level in Istanbul and Antalya in the 2022-2023 academic year. The research is a qualitative study in which the phenomenological design is used. Research data were collected through semi-structured interviews. The data were analyzed by descriptive analysis method. According to the research findings, it was seen that the teachers had communication problems with the parents, there were problems related to the physical structure of the schools, and the classrooms were inadequately equipped. It was observed that the teachers carried out the IEP preparation and execution process alone. Teachers stated that they had problems with branch teachers and partner teachers in the education process.
