Abstract (EN)

This study aims to reveal that school principles? and teachers? perceptions about the qualities of effective teachers. Moreover, this researcher hoped to see the difference whether those perceptions are affected by some demographic factors. For this purpose, 52 school administrators and 349 teachers from Bakırköy and Zeytinburnu in İstanbul,, were taken as the sample. In this study, the instrument developed by William (2010) named ?Administrator and teacher perceptions of the qualities of effective teachers? was used to collect data. To analyse the data, Descriptive statics, one way ANOVA, T-Test and LSD were used.According to the results of the research, it was found that, teachers and administrators? perceptions about effective teacher qualities had very strong relationship. Both teachers? and administrators? perceptions vere similar. There were some significant difference between administrators and teachers? perceptions when their replies were analyzed according to their demographic data.
