The examination of sense of gender of children continuing preschool education through drawings

This society in which we are either female or male has different expectations from us and different roles it makes us wear and most of us sees these molds as a burden and feel under pressure.It is known that the children's gender specific behaviour is affected by the parents' way of bringing up and many of the parents unconsciously expect their children to have a manner fitting their role of gender. These expectations affects the parents' attitude towards their children. Therefore, it is extremely important for the future to define the parents' role in their preschool children. Because the first the place the child socializes in is the family.Drawing is a fun and cheap way of understanding the children's attitude and emotions. As it is an easy tool of expression, it's a mean of communication with the outside world for a child with limited knowledge of vocabulary. In the study that was made by İnan it's stated that the children can use drawing as a mean of expressing their thoughts and emotions and the drawings have an important place in understanding the children. Because of important place of the parents and the drawings in the world of children, and by thinking that the drawings can be used to determine the social environment the children's in and also the behaviour problems this work's intend is to bring the society's perception out through the parent themed drawings made by the six year olds studying in the preschool institution in the province of Manisa.
