Abstract (EN)

This thesis research aims to examine the impact of intrinsic, extrinsic, and administrative teacher motivation on the levels of cyberloafing behavior demonstrated by preschool teachers in the workplace. A predictive correlational research method was employed in the study. The participants consisted of 209 preschool teachers working in private or public schools across Turkey. The data collection process was conducted online using a form divided into three sections. The first section of the survey included a personal information form for the participants, while the other two sections utilized the "Cyberloafing Scale" and the "Teacher Motivation Scale in the Context of Intrinsic, Extrinsic, and Administrative Factors," respectively. For the statistical procedures, including assumption checks, descriptive statistics, determination of correlation coefficients between variables, and calculation of possible effects between variables, the SPSS 23.0 software package was used. Independent samples t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), simple linear regression analysis, and multiple linear regression analysis were employed in the study. The findings revealed that the cyberloafing level of preschool teachers is below the average, while teacher motivation is at a high level. Male preschool teachers and those working in private schools were found to engage in cyberloafing behavior during class significantly more than other groups. Relationally, negative and weak but significant relationships were found between the teachers' cyberloafing levels and their motivation in the context of intrinsic, extrinsic, and administrative factors. Additionally, a positive and weak but significant relationship was found between teachers' age, years of service, and motivation. Finally, the explanatory power of teacher motivation on the level of cyberloafing among preschool teachers was determined to be 3.6%. In the multiple linear regression analysis conducted, only intrinsic motivation was identified as a significant predictor, explaining 6.4% of the cyberloafing level.
