Examining the factors which affect organizational happiness at shools

The main objective of this research is to gather teacher opinions about the affecting factors of happiness and define the necessities to foster teacher haappiness at ministerial schools. Among the types of qoantitative research, phenomenologic method has been used. The working group consists of thesecondary school teachers in Şahinbey/Gaziantep. To define the sample of the study, convenience sampling has been chosen among the sampling methods. The reseach includes the time span of the first period of 2016-2017 academic year. For gathering data, an interview form was used and 40 participats in total have been interviewed. Six themes have been obtained in total; "administrative processes", "occupational attitudes", "dedication", "communicational issues", "environmental factors" and "economic factors". In conclusion of the study, the most effective six factors have been obtained: "Being appreciated; symphaty, respect and tolerance at work; love of teaching and students; empathy at work; happiness of srudents and adequate income". There are also six main requests of teachers for fostering happiness at work. These are: "caring about compliments and suggestions; working productively; organizing activities for boosting the sense of belonging; treating without bias; providing extra books; enlarging the grant of secondary schools". The findings have been reported in terms of "what is needed? Who is the supplier and how to fulfill the needs?" Key words: Happiness, organizational happiness, middle school teachers.
