On Possibility measures

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Demirci June 2001, 54 Pages In this work the concept of fuzzy measures is introduced, the concept of possibility is studied by collecting different approaches from different references and it is shown how these relatively new concepts are used to solve real world problems. After explaining the necessity of fuzzy measures and giving the historical development of this concept in the introduction in the second chapter of the work, fuzzy sets are introduced and their properties are given. The third chapter is devoted to fuzzy measure theory, possibility tiieory and fuzzy integral theory. In the fourth chapter the semantic of the concepts is discussed, another approach to possibility is given and several conversions of possibility and probability are introduced.
