Edition and evaluation of the interpretation of chapter Yusuf in commentary of Ömar Nesefî

In this study, the manuscripts of Surah Yusuf in Umar al-Nasafi's (d. 537/1142) "Al-Taysir fi 'Elm al-Tafsir" were examined. Our study consists of an introduction, two chapters, and a conclusion. The introduction provides brief information about the subject of our study, its aim, method, sources, and the author Umar al-Nasafi. In the first part, information is given about the riwaya and diraya methods in the context of Surah Yusuf in Al-Taysir fi 'Elm al-Tafsir. The riwaya method is examined in the following subsections: interpretation of the Quran by the Qur'an, interpretation of the Quran by the Sunnah, interpretation of the Quran by the views of the Sahaba and Tabi'un, and Qur'anic narratives and israeliyat in commentaries. Similarly, the diraya method is discussed in terms of linguistics, fiqh, kalam, and mystic sciences. In addition, information on the Qur'anic sciences in Surah Yusuf is given under relevant titles such as asbab al-nuzûl, meccan-medinan, al-huruf al-muqataa, and wucuh-nazair. While examining both the riwaya and diraya methods and the Qur'anic sciences, relevant examples were presented and the varak numbers of the examples were shown in footnotes. The footnotes also include the Surah names and verse numbers of the verses, the sources and numbers of the hadiths, and the sources of the poems given in the examples.
