Abstract (EN)

Bridges were originally built from the simplest materials and designs. It has developed in a short time and has become a structure that passes over obstacles such as valleys, water bodies and rough terrain, covering these obstacles with natural or artificial materials. Bridges are classified according to the material used, the purpose of use and the mechanical system to able to serve various roles and carry different types of weights. Each element of the truss bridge can withstand dynamic tension and compression forces by distributing loads across the entire structure. This bridge type is much stronger and can handle heavier loads than other bridges. In this thesis, the optimum design of truss type bridge structures with a certain span has been studied. In order to obtain the optimum design, comparisons were made using gradient descent method of the gradient-based methods, and genetic algorithm from evolutionary methods.
